1) Installation and Removal
Installation:
1. Hook one side of the Clip under BGA chipset, and press down on the other side to fasten the clip
2. Gently the heat sink few times from right to left and up to down to
ensure the Lips are fully secured to the substrate. Make sure the two
side walls are leveled with the PCB board without interfacing with the
chip..
Correct Assembly
- Both side of the Side Walls are leveled with the PCB board without interfacing
- Both side of the Lips are fully secured to the substrate
Incorrect Assembly:
- One or both Side Walls are not leveled with the PCB board
- Not all Lips are holding the substrate
- Please
detach the clip from chipset and re-install. If instructions are not
correctly followed, will reduce heat dissipation and heat sink might be
at risk of fallen off.
Removal:
1 Use a flat screwdriver or fixture to engage one of the clip slots.
2 Use moderate pressure, and use the screwdriver to leverage towards to fin direction clip will slip from BGA chipset subtrate.
3 Carefully disengage other side clip and remove the entire heatsink from chipset.
