Hybrid Car Heat Sink As a result of serious air pollution problems in urban areas, major cities in the world began to use hybrid vehicles to help improve air quality. One problem associated with hybrid vehicles is the heat generated during a required gas to electrical conversion which will cause the car power reducing dramatically. To improve this high temperature issue, a good thermal solution is required. Currently, most of car heat sink are made by die casting, which can meet high mix geometry, but its poor material density sacrificed the performance. Extruded aluminum heat sinks also can be used, but the heavy weight and simple pattern limits its application. A more efficient third approach helps to solve the disadvantages of extrusion and die-cast heat sinks. Malico has developed a forging process to produce aluminum heat sinks which can support not only geometry, but also better thermal dissipation,and light weight for saving power and gas. This is a great contribution to the hybrid vehicle industry.
